Washington County

Washington county is a place filled with history. There are many things to see and do while visiting Washington.

Most of Washington Counties historic sites are free to the public and have amazing scenery along with pieces of our past that span from a walkway of veterans, to a hotel that a former president has stayed at.

The town of washington was founded in 1768 by the colonists, though it wasn't always named washington. Most of the settlers that came to Washington were irish and Scottish.

Washington Pa. is the first county in the United States to be named after President George Washington. It is also the center for the whiskey rebellion.

Aside from the historic sites, Washington also has other attractions like shopping, baseball, and much more.
